Some of the general Erythrocin tablets precautions are described below.Inform the doctor about your current medical history and if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used in Erythrocin or to ketolide antibiotics. Also, inform the doctor if you are taking any herbal supplements.This product contains some inactive ingredients which may cause allergic reactions or rashes on the skin and other problems. Thus, before using this medicine, talk to your doctor in detail.Inform the doctor if the patient is suffering from kidney, liver, or any muscular disease such as myasthenia gravis problem.Erythrocin is usually excreted by the liver in the human body. Therefore, cautions should be exercised in patients having impaired hepatic function.Without consulting with the doctor, avoid taking any vaccine while you are taking Erythrocin tablets.Erythrocin can cause some severe effects on the heart, such as it can increase the heartbeat and other conditions such as drowsiness, dizziness, and fainting due to its prolonged use. If these conditions get worsen, then immediately call the doctor.Exercise cautions when children are using this medicine as they are more sensitive to medicines side effects. Call the doctor immediately if the child has persistent vomiting or increased irritability.Older adults are also sensitive to the side effects of drugs. Thus, for older patients, it should be prescribed only if needed.Before taking erythromycin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other macrolide antibiotics (such as azithromycin, clarithromycin); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Use with caution in kidney compromised patient. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of kidney disease, liver disease, a certain type of muscle disease (myasthenia gravis). Some products that may interact with this drug include clindamycin, digoxin.
